Development Update Squamish- October 2016

Pre-sales are among us, as buyers are now taking their pick between a selection of new developments that have come on the market in recent weeks. With prices announced and initial phases released, buyer’s are having the freedom to be a bit pickier with what it is they choose- for townhomes at least. Here is the latest news for Squamish Developments for the month of October.

Skyridge

Skyridge is now on sale by appointment. These spacious townhomes and duplexes came on the market at the end of September and there are currently four duplexes and twelve townhomes remaining. The Ridge Townhomes are priced between $669-$719K (all $669K sold out). These townhomes offer over 2000 sq.ft. with three beds and three baths. The Park Townhomes range from $679-719K; they offer 3 beds and 3 bath with plenty of space inside and out. The Vista Duplexes are priced between $799-$859K. They have 2305 sq.ft. of living space with expansive decks. If you are yet to check out the floorplans you can see them here. Phase two lots have also been released. Many of these have both mountain and ocean views.

Breeze

Site plan availability has been recently released for Breeze and the townhomes are selling fast! The townhomes start at $539K (these are the front row facing the road) and the floorplans for these are a funky live/ work one bedroom plus loft and den design. There are also plans for commercial/retail space below which will be a great addition to the development and the surrounding neighbourhood. Construction on these townhomes will be starting soon with completion expected early 2018. The next phase of Breeze will likely go on sale in the Spring. Soleil

We are eagerly awaiting the release of Soleil expected any day now. Move to Squamish will have the heads-up with these townhomes so if you want to be first in line when they’re released make sure to email us info@movetosquamish.ca. Soleil will be starting at $499K and will include two and three bedroom townhomes facing the dyke with some facing Main street. Squamish’s downtown is booming right now and securing your investment before Newport Beach re-shapes the town is a wise.

Ravenswood

These stunning three and four bedroom homes are now selling. The display home is open weekends 1-5pm, ready for you to inspect. This master planned community is an exciting addition to Central Squamish. This area of Squamish use to be home to several hobby farms and is now exploding with new homes and townhouses. Newport Beach

Well underway Newport Beach has seen 3,286 m3 of fill been delivered to the site over the last few months. Temporary road access that will still allow public access to the site has been determined- construction on this will commence over the coming weeks. A development permit for the Green Tech Centre is still under negotiation but the developers are optimistic it will receive council approval. Environmental monitoring continues and grubbing and clearing activities have complete.

Other News

The District of Squamish issued 44 building permits in August- this is the most they have ever recorded in one month! They are currently working on over 80 development permits (some very complex in nature). Building permits are currently taking between 14-16 weeks however the District hopes to get the turnaround time back down to 8 weeks (full story).

Building permits and development applications aren’t the only thing up- in 2016 there has already been 144 new local businesses and 153 non-resident businesses. The thriving local economy is resulting in increased business confidence with an expected even busier year for new business starts in 2017.
