For the size of the town, Squamish has a great range of community services available for its residents. Below is a list of government run and not-for-profit community services available in Squamish:
Squamish public library is a great facilities with programs for adults and kids of all ages plus an extensive collection of books and online resources.
Squamish Senior’s Centre has a variety of programs and facilities catering for older adults.
Brennan Park Recreation Centre has a 85 X 200ft skating rink, a 25m pool, kids pool, hottub and steam room and several sport fields and tennis courts. There is also a large gymnasium, smaller function rooms and a bike and skateboard park outside.
Located just off the Sea to Sky Highway the Squamish Adventure Centre is a great meeting place and features a large meeting hall that can accommodate 25o people plus a coffee shop and small kids playing area. The Adventure Centre is also the visitor information/tourist hub of the town.
There is a great public and private school system in Squamish. The public system has six elementary, one middle school and one high school. The private system has a collection of exciting schools with a range of philosophies and curriculum’s.
The Squamish General Hospital is a facility with 21 beds and offers general surgery, obstetrics, palliative care, physiotherapy, diagnostic imaging, chemotherapy and emergency services.
There are several churches in the Sea to Sky representing all of the main stream religions.
Is a not-for-profit organization offering programs for families and disadvantaged populations in the Sea to Sky Corridor.
