Squamish Development Update- September

Squamish is about to start raining condos. Are you ready for it? It couldn’t come at a better time really. At the time of writing this post there are only six condos listed under the $400K with half of those being built before the 1970’s. There’s simply not a lot for sale in Squamish for people looking under half a million, and as housing affordability becomes an increasing pressure, more inventory is needed at the lower end of the market.

Good news is we are about to see the pre-sales of several condo developments launch. Bad news is that completion for these condos is about two years away (at least). With The Main (which is sold out) just breaking ground, and Cleveland Gardens which is also starting, there will be a period of low inventory for condos in Squamish.

And townhomes… well, Summits View is now sold out saying good-bye to an era of pre-sale townhomes under the $600K mark (for now anyway). There are still over a dozen townhomes remaining at Soleil and The Breeze, with a few Seven Peaks remaining too. After these projects are sold out expect a lag before future developments are launched. With the District pushing density it appears condos are the housing model of choice and we will likely be seeing a lot more of in future developments like Waterfront Landing and Newport Beach.

Here’s the latest on some of the hot developments in Squamish this September.

The Vantage

Are you ready for the release of The Vantage? We certainly are. Brown paper masks the windows of the new display centre which will be opening imminently. The boutique collection of 73 one, two and three bedrooms condos is expected to sell fast with prices starting in the low $300Ks for one bedrooms, mid-$400ks for two bedrooms and high $500ks for three bedrooms!

Launch date is last week of September or first week of October with the presentation centre set to open in a few weeks time. Buyer’s will likely line up for first dibs on condos, and a 20 percent deposit will be required to secure one. Completion is expected summer 2019.

Expect floorplans and features soon. If you haven’t registered yet, contact us and we can get you on the list.
