Squamish Development Update | March

Get in on the last remaining townhome and condo pre-sales in Squamish with pre-2020 completions, or sit tight for another few months until the next wave of developments launch. The 2018 real estate market has started out in full force, not even a buzz around foreign buyers and speculation taxes has dampened the market one bit in Squamish!

There are a few remaining condo and townhome opportunities for those looking for pre-2020 completions, while some exciting projects are launching in the next few months, including the much-anticipated Waterfront Landing by Bosa Properties.

Here’s what’s left to buy in Squamish and what’s coming up soon.

Breeze

There are a few two-bedroom lofted townhomes and the three-bedroom townhomes with rooftop patios are now sold out. This Target Homes development featured 72 West-coast contemporary townhomes with the last remaining townhomes starting at $579.9K.

Soleil

Only a couple townhomes remain! These two and three-bedroom downtown Squamish condos located on the estuary are in a prime location and offer the perfect position, close to the future Newport Beach and set on the waterfront bordered by nature. Soleil is the final phase of Coastal Village; time is running out to secure one of these townhomes to live or invest.

Cleveland Gardens

Garibaldi Springs

garibaldi-springs-site

Garibaldi Springs passed its second reading at Council on March 6th and will now face a public hearing on April 24th with a public info meeting on April 6th. The Squamish community is still polarized by this one. Some believe the proposed 350 housing units is what the town needs to help cool prices and add inventory to the over-heated market, while others do not agree with the location of the site, some of which (under previous versions of the plan) included sensitive green space. If passed Garibaldi Springs would include townhomes, condos, single story cottages, parklands, trails and a playground.

Waterfront Landing

Phase one of Waterfront Landing will be going on sale very soon. The first phase will include two and three bedroom townhomes. This exciting Bosa project is located on the Mamquam Blind Channel in downtown Squamish and will be a multi-phase, residential/ commercial development built out over the next 5-7 years. Contact us for project files or to register for this one.

Cheema Lands

The largest privately owned parcel of land in Squamish, which has come under scrutiny in the last year, is again making news headlines. Land owner, Bob Cheema, temporarily erected fences closing the site which is home to some of the most popular recreation trails in Squamish. He has threatened to permanently close the land to the public if the District of Squamish does not allow him to develop it (currently the population needs to reach 23,000 before the site can be developed under the current Official Community Plan). Cheema has promised to protect and even inject more money into the trail network if he’s allowed to develop the lands.

Many other condo and townhome projects are awaiting re-zoning, OCP amendments and development permits. Make sure to sign up for our monthly email updates for the latest on pre-sale opportunities in Squamish.
